The sadness of broken balls…

First of all, SOME of you need to get your minds out of the gutter!!!! Hah!

So… I have a cat, right?

I have a Christmas tree, right? Anyone want to guess where I might be going here???

Right… My precious, super sweet, cute as pie kitty, is about two years old…Miss Bridgette Kitty is her name…Sweetest cat in the world. Truly. LOVES all three of my dogs…LOVES me…Will lay on me for hours slobbering…

Yes. She drools. Something fierce… I don’t mind…Well, not much…Nothing better then kitty snot!

Anyway. I had her last Christmas, but perhaps she was too young to understand the damage she could do…Perhaps she is acting out in her teenage years…Perhaps she has used the whole year to plan all her attacks…Perhaps she has wayyyy too much time on her paws!!! I don’t rightly know… What I do know, is that the damn cat will NOT stay out of my damn tree!

EVERY FREAKIN MORNING, I come down to something… Bows on the floor. Broken hummingbird wing. TEN LAYERS of cat hair on my red velvet tree skirt…NIIIIIICE…

And the kicker? Last night I come home to a broken, smashed to smithereens, gold ball…I was so disgusted, I didn’t even have the heart to clean it up…

At this point, I am no longer even putting the crap BACK on the tree…I am leaving it on the floor… Yep. I am starting a new trend…

Gonna start decorating the floor AROUND my Christmas tree, and allow any holiday visitors to use their imaginations to see how my tree would look decorated… Happy Holidays everyone…Anyone want a cat for Christmas????

Zoikes…that is horrible. I have not attempted to do a tree since i got my dog…she is two now….and i fear it would look something like yours if not knocked over all together

I have four cats. No more for me. I have two older cats and 2 kittens that we rescued last summer. We didn’t put the tree up due to the kittens. I was afraid of what is happening to you to happen to us. I hope your kitty learns to leave the tree alone. If not good luck, on your new trend.

I have to say that this is a funny blog. I remember when I was a kid we had a cat and a dog that knocked the tree over almost every year! I am sure that your visitors will be curious as to why you have decorations on the floor though. Good conversation starter, huh?

well at least she hasn’t climbed it & made it come crashing over yet… my parents cat did that one year. Not fun.

On a positive note, the older the cat got the less interested in destruction she seemed to be. Course it also could have been the blast from a spray bottle she started getting when she got near the tree. I have heard that putting tinfoil under the skirt can help, since it makes a crackling noise that scares them when they get on it. Maybe a motion sensored singing ornament or something?

Good luck. Less than a week left…

Got 4 cats, one is just a little kitten (probably not even a year old yet) that was abandoned by our house this summer, rambuncitious as anything. Don’t dare put up a tree. You could always get unbreakable plastic ornaments. But at least the tree didn’t come tumbling down.

LOL…our tree has no ornaments on the bottom thanks to our cat. She doesn’t climb it, but any ornament in the bottom third is fair game. A couple years ago I went back to glass bulbs because the kids were old enough to know better…but the cat isn’t. I am so sick of picking up shards of broken bulbs from the cat batting them around the house!

Oh dear, we had to put the tree up hihg to keep it from the ferret. Good lucj with that. So far, so good, can’t put the gifts out yet, because of that. Try to have a good day any ways! Love ya!

Yes… my cat, Abbey does the same thing. I had to stop putting ornaments on the bottom third of the tree. Also, the tree skirt is red - the same color as her favorite blanket - so she lays on it all the time and runs around on it and messes it up. daily. I love her though! She’s on a diet too :)

LOL!! LOL!! I’m sorry, this is just too funny, but I am sure you don’t find it quite as amusing, it’s just that your blog is so well written!!
