Ripley’s Believe it or NOT!!!
rn
Good morning buddyslimers of the world!!!
rn
Well, it is HUMP day…WOO HOO!!! How excited are we?? Well, we are INCREDIBLY excited!!!
rn
So, my sad little saga of the broken equipment continues…
rn
I get home last night, and I tell the husband “Hurry up! Hurry up! I drove by the workout room and there was NO ONE up there!” Well, of course, because he is a man, he moves slower then molases…15 minutes later he is finally dressed and ready for the gym…
rn
This brings on the wiferly (wiferly?) lecture…
rn
“Now Stevie…If you are gonna be my workout buddy, you have got to have yourself ready to go when I get home! I can not have you breakin my stride kid!”
rn
Seriously. It was all good folks…So then he grabs my hand and we litterally run through the snow covered fields (yards, really) for miles (a block, really) and we hit the clubhouse just as another car is pulling up…
rn
In a very conspiratal whisper he says “you go grab a machine, and i will save you time by signing us in!”
(The man gets it!!!)
rn
So I run in and see my beloved elliptical…And she does NOT have an out of order sign on her. And she is sitting there waiting…Arms wide open for me!!! I am happy as the proverbial clam!!!
rn
Just as I step on, another girl comes in…She goes to the remaining working treadmill, so I dont think much of it…But then she comes over to me and says “I need that machine, its the only one I use…” I look at her, smile kindly and say “You may have it in about 20 minutes, because I have been waiting for this machine for a week too…Sorry dear”…I got a look, and she walked away. Sure. I felt bad for a milisecond, but then I thought, oh well. We have to give in take in this world. And today, I am taking…
rn
(I should say, the OTHER elliptical was free as was the treadmill, but this girl chose to SIT DOWN and wait for me for 20 minutes!!!) I would have used some other machine. Really…
rn
Okay. So the point of this rambling mess of a blog???
rn
I LOVED MY WORKOUT LAST NIGHT…It was my first real workout in a week…ANd boy, did I miss it…Now, because my beloved elliptical is still broken, I could only do my workout at the highest incline….Which was a GREAT workout, but I did about die!!!!! I burned 350 calories in just 20 minutes due to the incline…WOW!!!
rn
I was on a high kids…I felt great. I really missed the gym…And that let me to realize that working out makes me feel better. Even when the damn scale does not move, it clears my mind, it clears my body in the form of sweat, and overall, I just feel acomplished when I get done!!!
rn
So I did let her have the machine when I finished. I did my weights and my stomach crunches and headed off to home, but I felt better then I have felt in two weeks!!!
rn
I needed the break, I do think so, if for no other reason then for allowing me to realize how much I now LIKE to exercise!! I NEED to exercise…
rn
Wow!!! Who would have thunk it???
rn
Take care lady bugs (And gents)

I’m surprised you didn’t stay on that ellipitical and extra 5 minutes, just for spite, considering there were other machines she could have used!!! I think I would have!! The gall of some people!
Glad you finally got to get in a good workout.
Needless to say I do not share your enthusiasm in working out, but I do feel better after the fact. You ROCK keep up the good work. Stand your ground with the work out equipment , and tell the princess she must wait for the queen to step down .

You were much nicer than I would have been!
I can’t beleive that chic! Some people…..I would have stayed on it longer just to piss her off. She could have used another one!
Good for you, you exercise lover!!!!
I know I feel so much better when I exercise too. I made up my mind lastnight to just keep moving no matter what. Exercising will never do me bad but not doing it sends me into a spiral of feeling like crap and making poor choices.
Have a happy hump day!

Have a super day!
Toooooooo funny that the girl waited for that specific machine! I’m with you, when that happens to me I just use whatever is available until the machine I want is free. GOOD FOR YOU for sticking up for yourself though!! You were there first!
Isn’t it absolutely amazing the difference a workout makes in our outlook?? Even when the scale says the same #, I FEEL skinnier on the days that I workout. :) It’s so worth the effort!
Glad you got to workout and it sounds like it was a good one!!! Isn’t it weird how people get attached to particular machines? I get very frustrated.. One day in mine I signed up on the wrong one by accident.. There are 2 others open and this guy comes and throws me off of the one I’m on.. Very very bizarre… Glad to hear you missed exercise… I feel the same way when I skip for even a day! LOL and Steve is a trooper being ready and willing to run through the snow to get you to your workout!! You should thank him!! Glad to see you are back on track and full steam ahead Dawn!

I’m so happy you got your machine back and you had such a great workout but its even better than you realized how much you really do enjoy it and need it.
Once again you are an inspiration.
I too feel better after I exercise, of course it’s not anywhere near the workout you are doing. I just have to remember that feeling and get off my butt to do it.
Keep up the great work Dawn!!!!

Dawnie.. You are the cutest..You have an awesome husband for pushing you to the limit.. and yeah, that girl was nuts! I never go up to someone in their workout.. Its like hellooo they are in the mojo!
Keep it up darlin
Dawnie, I’ve missed you! Your blog today was both entertaining and inspirational! I needed it lol. My work out ethics have gone out the window, and your reminding me how wonderful it feels makes me wanna get off my ass and get movin. Thanks girl.
And regarding that lady trying to get you off the machine, all I can says is GOOD FOR YOU! She’s clearly rude for even asking you to get off the machine…now if she’d said, let me know when you’re done or something, it’d be different lol…
Anyway, keep up the AMAZING work!! I’m so glad to be back…
Hugs,
Angie
And by the way, you are looking positively radiant!! Ya lil hottie!
Yes, I love to workout as well….I’ve only taken a couple breaks for months at a time since I was 18 but I get back around to my consistent workouts because (1) I love to eat and (2) I’m afraid my back will curl when I’m older if I don’t exercise to fight my genes for osteoporosis……
my what a wonderfully presented story…maybe Ireland rubbed off on you! I cant wait for it to rub off on me! At anyrate woo-hoo I feel ya, the work out was great for me too!
And can I just say “How Rude” about the girl
coming over and telling you she needs the machine…what did she think you were doing, dusting it off. I swear some people dont use a lick of sense! And then to go sit on her arse instead of using another machine while she waited…what a tart!
You’re hubby is a sweety. Oh wait till you hear this, on the hubby front….as we are on the way back from shopping….after we’ve had the talk ont he way to the shopping…I say oh look looks like a new resturant..oh I think its a long john silvers….he says you hungry lets go find out! I swear!
Have a peachy day chickypoo!
Oh I hope you did extra time on the machine! I am shocked someone woould come up to you and make you feel as if the machine was hers! I am shocked that she just sat there waiting! Very impressed with your great work out!
I can’t believe the NERVE of some people out there! I am glad you held your own—good for you my friend!
I know EXACTLY what you mean about exercise clearing your head and making you feel better! And you’re probably right, taking a break made you appreciate your more active side!
Great blog Dawnie, as always!
