Wet and Wild…

Okay. So that title probably pulled at least one of you in?(Scott???)
rn
rn
I have never bought into this whole water=weight loss theory?
rn
rn
Yes, I have heard the experts, I have read the evidence, I have tried it numerous times, but it never seems to make a difference?
rn
rn
And who are these so called experts that say if you drink water you won?t be hungry??? HUH?? That has NEVER worked for me?
rn
rn
Hell, I could drink a tub full and still be hungry!
rn
rn
But last week, there were blogs everywhere out here touting the benefits of water?
rn
rn
And since my best buddy Scott drinks more then anyone I have ever met (Yes, both water AND beer!)
I thought perhaps I should revisit the water situation?
rn
rn
Sooo. I decided to give it a go for two weeks. I would replace my favorite Diet Orange Sunkist with water? And see what happens?
rn
rn
Well, I am at the end of week one, and here is my conclusion:
rn
rn
Drinking more water has done absolutely NOTHING but wear out the carpet between my desk and the bathroom! Thank God I am a salaried employee or I would be docked some pay for all the hours I have spent Pee-ing (Is that TMI??)
rn
rn
So?I will give it a full additional week and an official weigh in before I come to a complete conclusion, but so far, I am less then impressed my H2O loving friends?
rn
rn
I gotta go now?Literally!
rn
rn
XOXOXOXO

Well, we’re waiting anxiously for the results of this one! But I can tell if I don’t drink enough water. The next morning when I wake up, my fingers are always swollen. When I drink plenty of water, my rings spin on my finger, but if I don’t they are snug. But maybe that’s just me.
Of course the title pulled me in!! I thought it was a new dvd available that I might be interested in! Well your sodium intake went down at least!! So don’t say it did nothing!! I do think it is beneficial really I do and I agree with Mary without my water I feel sluggish throughout the day!! And shhh about my beer you!!!

Dawn, I know what your talking about, water doesnt fill me up either, and I drink at least 80 ounces a day. But when I don’t drink it I feel dehydrated and sick.So its always good to drink it up anayway.
Water is very important in weight loss to rid us of the toxins in our systemI just pulled this up for futher clarifing
Weight Loss Benefits of Drinking Water
Drinking water and losing weight!
“Drink 8 glasses of water each day” is what we hear all the time but what weight loss benefits do we get from drinking water?
All functions within the body require the presence of water. A well hydrated body enables these functions to occur quickly and efficiently. All chemical processes involve energy metabolism and drinking plenty of water will make us feel more energetic and boost our metabolic rate.
Water makes your metabolism burn calories 3% faster.
Drinking water is important if you’re trying to lose weight, some studies have shown that thirst and hunger sensations are triggered together. If there is a slight dehydration the thirst mechanism may be mistaken for hunger and one may eat when the body is actually craving fluid. As most food contains some water, if one doesn’t drink much they may be subconsciously driven to eat more to gain the necessary water supply however, you also gain the undesired effects of increased calorie consumption. Drinking more water can help to prevent overeating and benefit weight loss.
Importance of drinking water in the modern diet
So many new food product created today not only contain high amounts of energy from added sugar and fats, they also contain very little water. Foods today need to be stored for longer periods and foods with a high water content tend to spoil much faster, think about milk, yogurt, eggs, fruits and vegetables. It may be great to think that we can stock our cupboards full of all these tasty foods that last for months, trouble is, it means less water consumption from foods.
If a weight loss diet doesn’t allow much food or if food consumption is mainly in the form of processed, TV dinners it may be necessary to drink even more water to help stop strong cravings for food.
Yes yes…I know all about the benefits of water buddies…I just dont BUY it!
But thanks for trying!!!!
MMMM yeah way to much info… But I am with you. I am forcing myself to drink more water because with me it does make a diffrence. Good luck
Well…I LOVE water, always have and always will….whether the benefits are true or false, I don’t know, all I know is that I drink about a gallon of water most days….about 98% of the time…..and in 2003 I had a kidney infection that was so bad, it landed me in the hospital 3 days short of a month…and the only reason I was discharged was because I threatened to jump out the window otherwise.
So, I don’t know….let me know what your personal research finds!
Girl…I am so with you.
Tell you what, I agree that water does not kill my hunger. Tea does, though. But I drink a lot of water for 2 reasons: A) even if it isn’t true (I am ok with the placebo effect), I think it washes away the fat that I burn when I work out from the adipose tissue. Our lymphatic system needs liquid to wash away waste. (Physiology class a few years ago). I also drink a lot of water bc I have noticed how much better my skin looks. I still use lotion, but it has definitely improved and is not half as dry as it used to be.
Water does not fill me up either. However water is good for your body and you do need at least 3 8oz glasses a day. I don’t know about the whole water and weight loss thing but I do know in my medical training that our bodies need water to survive.
water is my bestfriend! i learned that not too long ago.. it helps your kidneys at least.. you are soo super!
I’m with you!
I used to never ever drink water either, am just about to blog about it though ……… stick with it.
